Fashion Revolution Day came and went. The party is over, our clothes are now right side in, so what now?

The energy surrounding Fashion Revolution Day on April 24th, the one year anniversary of the Rana Plaza Collapse, was an explosive event that commanded attention all around the world. Articles were published in the major fashion powerhouses like Vogue, Elle, and Harper’s Bazaar. Social media blew up off the hook, like the 66,547 hashtags of insideout on Instagram.

But where do we go from here now that the parties are over?

Everlane, the online-only clothing brand, championing basics + transparency within the fashion industry is providing a platform for a call to action. They have created a central location to donate directly to the Rana Plaza Donor’s Trust Fund. The Fund offers financial support to victims and their families affected by the tragic collapse.

“While we can’t fix the system overnight, we can start by helping to raise money for those impacted,” says Everlane.

With a goal of $100,000, Everlane will match the first $10,000 in donations. As I write, they’ve already raised $10,080, locking in their promise to match funds. You may never get to meet or know the people affected, but in this globalized world we are all connected and every donation matters.

“The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” –Socrates
