D&A 2013: Round-up of favorites for next fall

d&a+flowers

Designers and Agents (d&a) hosted another successful Fall/Winter showcase, packed with designers from all around the world. Sixteen percent of the 238 designers in attendance were identified as green or ‘striving towards green-ness’ “achieved through ecologically sensitive practices and/or fair trade affiliation.” With five showrooms at two locations, the beautiful designs were seemingly endless. We were tempted to open up our own store! But for now, we’ve rounded up our favorite pieces by green designs for you below.

Tailfeathers

Tailfeathers creator Liat Cohen, began making jewelery while living in Hawaii, but now she has moved her studio to NYC where she makes all jewelry using re-purposed vintage pieces when possible. The jewelry is a mixture of sun-kissed charm and urban edge and we can’t wait to sport ours!

Buffalo Transformation Bag

Ampersand as Apostrophe Jessica Park began working in an architect firm designing retail stores, and now you can find her bags in them. Made in Seattle in Park’s studio, all leather is hand cut, no use of lasers cutting. The charming detail of exposed seams on the bags retains the quality and charm of the material. And there is a lot of charm in her buffalo leather bags! Our favorite is from the Buffalo Collection Transformation Bag which can be worn 42 different ways! From shoulder bag to clutch, and comes with a black strap and color of your choice, the ability to personalize it is almost endless.

Susan Woo Wrap Coat

Susan Woo, 2013 Ecco Domani Winner for Sustainable Design, makes all her clothing in NYC and LA. We love this leather and wool wrap coat. The best thing about a great coat is you can be wearing anything underneath and still look put together—this is definitely one of those!

Totem Salvaged

Totem Salvaged bags are made from recycled and vintage materials all handmade in California. These colorful clutches are a favorite!

Stewart+Brown Cowel Pullover

Stewart + Brown’s mesh cowl-neck pull-over in shale is warm enough for fall weather, or you can layer it as the colder temperatures settle in. The ease and class of the cowl-neck can be dressed up or down. Plus, the button detail is super cute!

Raleigh Jean

Raleigh Denim Jeans, made in their downtown Raleigh, NC workshop, are a fun twist on the classic jean. These painted jeans are one of a kind and a limited edition collection. You won’t be bumping into anyone with the same pair of jeans!

Aiayu sweater

Aiayu‘s Smilla sweater made of llama wool is cozy and comfortable and fairtrade. Adding fun colors to the season’s staple gray, doesn’t it make you want to cozy up by a fire and drink hot coco?!
