Getting ready to travel? This bag’s sleek design holds the perfect hint of stylish character. But it’s design isn’t the only thing that sets it apart. This week’s Weekly Want is Cobra Society’s Tangier Travel Bag.
The handwoven kilms, used throughout all of Cobra Society’s styles, are made by local women in the Middle Atlas of Morocco, a mountainous region were little economic opportunity is available. The Cobra Society works within these communities providing access to western markets, keeping a traditional craft alive and bringing economic stability to a remote region.
Honoring the traditional artisan skills of Moroccan weavers, Cobra Society was founded in 2010 by designer Alexandra David as a luxury boot brand. Her boots were instantly recognized by publications like Vogue UK as a timeless yet trend-forsaking style. Since it’s inception, Cobra Society has expanded to handbags, small leather goods and home accents.
Cobra Society products evoke a heritage of ancient times, yet with the structure and street style for today’s fearless fashion influencers. Beautifully designed, lastingly constructed, versatile and unique, materials and composition define Cobra Society’s timeless luxury.
Natural dyes are used for the kilm portion of this bag, and because each item is made by hand, slight variations in color, design and texture will occur. This bag is finished in Spain, where the leather is sourced.
